About Marita
Made to Be Held.
Holding Moments and Memories
Every cup holds a story. Memories of her grandfather's cup inspired Marita to create individual and personal cups. "I have a vivid memory of my Grandfather sitting in his chair with a cup of tea. He always drank out of a mug that my Dad gave him. It has a boat drawn on it and a little poem. Whenever I see that mug, it brings back that memory."
Marita creates cups that reflect the personality of the holder, or offer comfort, either by a connection to the drawing on the cup, or the feel of embracing the cup in the hand.
Why not use something special every day?
Most special items are saved 'for best'. But why not enjoy something lovely every day? We need daily moments of joy and comfort, times to sit and be quiet, within and without.
Cups that are Made to Be Held are made to be embraced, and by extension, embracing ourselves.
Marita also invites the holder to see themselves in nature. During the lockdown years of Covid, Marita spent a lot of time observing the different personalities of the Sulphur-crested Cockatoos that came by each day, noting how similar they were to people she knew.
Take a scroll through My Covid Friends in the menu and see if you can find a Cockatoo who you think represents you or a family member.
